Is it true that your boyjones (j pronounced as h, don't read this, but I know you will :) dropped for the Gibbler? I think my first TV-world crush was Ariel. How messed up is it that Disney didn't age up her for the movie? I think she's 16 when all that went down, correct? In the late 20th century, getting married at 16 or younger seemed like a vestige most of society shed almost 100 years prior. People are living longer, there's no need to think of marriage as a business partnership with exchange or land and dowry, women were in the work place, and Lorena was in charge of the bedroom with some sharp foreplay. It just seems weird, even as a callback piece to some age over a hundred years ago, that a family-first Disney would write a story about underage children sealing the deal.
