DASS 73: Grow A Beard

  1. I don't see myself attempting a beard again. As it's growing, it gets too itchy. I also think you need some face girth to handle a beard which I do not have.

  2. Jedi Academy has that name because it is part of a series. With each successive game, the developers decided to tie it to the previous game and further it from its roots.
You are currently playing through the fourth game in the series.
The order is Star Wars: Dark Forces, then Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, and finally Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. It's odd that the devs didn't make Star Wars Jedi Academy 2: The Philosopher's Stone since the Harry Potter films were hot at the time.

  3. Have you ever watched a movie all the way through in hopes that it would get better? You want something cool to happen, but it ends up being a boring two hour slog where the most riveting moment is whether the protagonists cut through a red light or not--and for what--everybody finds out what they were racing to tell the world anyway. They could have died, T-boning Grammy and Gramps out for their anniversary dinner, and the rest of the world still would have discovered what they were trying to announce. Why did I commit myself to this? Cosmos (2019) may be technically accurate in how they use equipment. I don't know. I'm not apart of these professions, so I don't care if they show those details. The writers decided to emphasize the wrong thing--the boring thing. It's not like Spielberg shows you all the research Indiana Jones does prior and post adventure. Cosmos (2019) would have been better as a short (tops 30 minutes! tops!).

  4. How are your walks going? Are you getting some D in you, soaking up some D-stimulating rays? When you go out, do you have set questions in mind or do you just wander? As I try to find new crooks and alleys that keep me away from people--not because I want to be away from people, but I can't stand when people take these large, sometimes life-endangering swooshes away from me--as I do that, I just let it roll. A lot of times, as I wander, I wonder what I'm even wondering about. I let thoughts come to me.

  5. Are you watching any TV? I'm burning through this show called Future Man. The first season's OK, and while watching it, I had the thought that Hunger Games boy went on to do a SciFi channel-esque show while Hunger Games girl went on to be a big movie star, but I enjoyed its weird pulls from pop-culture to make something new-ish even if it's a little cheesy. Stick with it, and season 2 transforms the show into its own thing even with the occasional pull. I'm on season 3 and soon will be missing the troupe as the show comes to its close. I recommend giving it a watch and stick through that first season even though you'll be like this is probably for a younger crowd with all the references, although I'm not sure how young since a lot of the references are what our gen gets. Maybe the show is for the feeble-minded. Enjoy it!
